Goeie Zin is DE avond in Zaal 100 voor singer-songwriters en semi akoestische muziek. Vanavond 1 act uit Amsterdam, 1 uit de Verenigde Staten maar woonachtig in Hilversum en 1 uit Haarlem.

De eerste act is Ocean Child.
I was born in the Netherlands, but grew up in Curaçao, in The Dutch West Indies. Some of my songs are inspired by the lovely turquoise Caribbean Sea, and the sensation of feeling at home on the island. Back in Holland, I started to play guitar and wrote my first compositions. I studied English because I love to write lyrics in that rich and expressive language. Years later, I started a project I called OceanChild, with Lode de Roos from Westcoast Productions. I wanted to share my inspiration and songs with you, but also to experience co-creation and, ultimately, to release my own music. All songs have their own specific character. Therefore we invite those musicians who can feel into the atmosphere of each song. We feel specially blessed and inspired to work with the variety of talented musicians that give colour to our music.

De 2e act is Gayle Skidmore.
Seven-time San Diego Music Award nominee Gayle Skidmore has written over 2500 songs since she began songwriting at the age of 8. Her natural ability and innate passion for music made her music career inevitable, and her tumultuous life has given her plenty of inspiration. Translating her experiences into song has been more than just personally fulfilling. Gayle Skidmore won Best Pop in the 2015 San Diego Music Awards, Best Pop Album for “Sleeping Bear” in 2014, and Best Singer-Songwriter in 2013. Classically trained on the piano from the age of 4, Gayle Skidmore also plays over 20 other instruments, including the mountain dulcimer, banjo, folk harp and balalaika.
Gayle’s dedication to her craft has paved the way to opening for the likes of Jason Mraz, Lisa Loeb, Grant Lee Phillips, The Jamestown Revival, Sean and Sara Watkins, Sam Phillips, and Coeur d’Pirate. She has recorded with such artists as The Softlightes, Bushwalla, Jason Mraz and Tyrone Wells, and continues to explore new styles. Her song “Only Ever You” features Dave Catching of Eagles of Death Metal on guitar, and her single “All My Life” includes a myriad San Diego talent, including Brian “Nucci” Cantrell of The English Beat, Jeff Berkley, Billy Galewood and Veronica May. In January 2022, she released an electro swing track, “Viva La Vita,” which includes a few Italian phrases. “Viva La Vita” was a finalist in the pop cateory of The Great American Song Contest. She is currently working on several collaborations in this genre, with plans to release three more singles in 2022. Recently transplanted to The Netherlands, she continues to enchant with her singular, transportive style and her heartfelt performances.
