We are organizing our monthly movie night again at zaal 100 on Thursday, 9th of November.

About the movie:
This movie is one of the masterpieces of Italian cinema from the 70’s. You could describe this as a sort of costume drama, as it takes place in the beginning of the 20th century, in the city of Venice, and pays hommage to all the beautiful features and unique details of that age. Think extravagant Victorian style dresses, elaborate suits and a stylish hotel at the beach, where the jetset of the higher classes of Europe were entertained.
Yet, it is so much more than that…there is an impending doom hanging over all this forgotten glory. We follow a seemingly lonely old, but intellectual gentleman and his obsession with a young boy. This develops in a slow, but very intense turn of events, where lots of things are unspoken and need to be unraveled by the viewer. Imagine watching an old painting where all the characters slowly come to life…ask yourself…what is your concept of beauty? Can you die in peace when you find this beauty?
