De Nederland-Korea Internationale Samenwerking voor Improvisatievoorstellingen in 2024 markeert de tweede internationale samenwerking na het evenement in Korea in 2022, waar Nederlandse improvisatiedansers en musici optraden.

In 2022 werkten Nederlandse improvisatiedansers en musici samen tijdens het 22e Seoul International Improvisation Dance Festival (Simpro) en het 7e Jeju International Improvisation Dance Festival (Jimpro), beide georganiseerd door het International Performing Arts Project (IPAP). Deze samenwerking omvatte ook de deelname van de Korean National Contemporary Dance Company en de Nederlandse groep Collectief Imprography als partnerorganisaties.

Voor de voorstelling in 2024 zullen vier Koreaanse improvisatiedansers uit het evenement van 2022 opnieuw samenwerken met Nederlandse improvisatiedansers en musici van de nieuwe generatie.

Deze interculturele dialoog overstijgt traditionele grenzen, omarmt een rijke diversiteit aan stemmen en vermengt en daagt artistieke contrasten moeiteloos uit.

The 2024 Netherlands-Korea International Collaborative Improvisation Performance marks the second international collaboration following the 2022 event in Korea, which featured Dutch improvisational dancers and musicians.

In 2022, Dutch improvisational dancers and musicians collaborated during the 22nd Seoul International Improvisation Dance Festival (Simpro) and the 7th Jeju International Improvisation Dance Festival (Jimpro), both organized by the International Performing Arts Project (IPAP). This collaboration also involved the Korean National Contemporary Dance Company and the Dutch group Collectief Imprography as partner organizations.

For the 2024 performance, four Korean improvisational dancers from the 2022 event will once again join Dutch improvisational dancers and musicians of the new generation.

This cross-cultural dialogue transcends traditional boundaries, embracing a rich diversity of voices while seamlessly blending and challenging artistic contrasts.

Jeongho NAM

Choreographer,　performer and dance educator. Born in Kimchon, South Korea. Her work has been presented in Seoul, Pusan, Tokyo, Fukuoka, Moscow,　Brest, Sibiu, New York, Paris, Lyon, Hawaii, Shanghai and Taiwan. Taught at the Korean National University of Art in Seoul until retirement. Formal Artistic director of Korea National Contemporary Dance Company.

Won Kim

Since 1985 she has been working as a choreographer and dancer, she is focused on finding movements beyond formalized and predetermined choreography searching for the essence “free and pure” movements of human body, and trying to develop this kind of idea and realizing what is needed. She is doing experimental performances with a deeper understanding of dance. Currently, she likes to get autonomous collaborative work in which artists exchange and cooperate and continues to seek artistic values of new directions that break down the boundaries between genres.

Yunjung Kim

She studied at Kunsthochschule ArtEZ in the Netherlands and received Suzuki Method and Viewpoint training in New York supported by the state government of Nordrhein-Westfalen in Germany. She is leading the YJK Dance Project with her unique choreographic universe, and her works have been invited to international festivals. She also has a reputation for freely involving gestures, facial expressions, sounds, and theatrical movements in her choreography, which is a rare case in Korean contemporary dance, and for covering a broad span of narratives and characters.

Hobin Park

Choreographer. Artistic director of Zero Point Motion. In July 1999, he was awarded a MAMPIST scholarship from the Samsung Foundation of Culture. This allowed him to build up the systematic methods of dance in Europe during the next year and a half. At the Laban Center in London, he was influenced and absorbed in the research of the improvised movements of the Merce Cunningham technique, and release technique.
