Across the Pond Guitar Festival

This is a concert night that came into being during tours together of virtuosic guitarist Jimmy Robinson (New Orleans) and singer-songwriter Lily Kiara (Amsterdam), organised both in New Orleans and in Amsterdam. They bring local and traveling musicians together, sharing music and a growing community.
In New Orleans it takes place at the Jazz Museum in the Old U.S. Mint and in Amsterdam a.o. at Splendor.
This time at Zaal 100 the emphasis is not necessarily on guitars, but with an array of adventurous musicians on strings, horns, reeds and vocal chords.
We’ll play songs and improvisations in several combinations. Expect unexpected musical tunes and tones. Be welcome!

Across the Pond Guitar Festival

Dit is een concertavond die is ontstaan tijdens gezamenlijke tournees van virtuoos gitarist Jimmy Robinson (New Orleans) en singer-songwriter Lily Kiara (Amsterdam), georganiseerd in New Orleans en in Amsterdam. Ze brengen lokale en reizende muzikanten samen, delen muziek en verbinding. In New Orleans vindt het plaats in het Jazz Museum in de Old U.S. Mint en in Amsterdam o.a. in Splendor.
Deze keer bij Zaal 100 ligt de nadruk niet per se op gitaren, maar spelen avontuurlijke muzikanten op snaren, blazers, rieten en stembanden.
We spelen liedjes en improvisaties in verschillende combinaties. Verwacht onverwachte muzikale klanken en kronkelingen. Wees welkom!
